Househunters seeking fresh inspiration for interior design are invited to visit one of David Wilson Homes' Leicestershire developments to see the stunning showhomes on display.
Visitors to any one of the homebuilder's developments across Leicestershire will be able to pick up handy tips and ideas on how to optimise space, how to make existing furniture fit and how best to incorporate current design trends into their new home.
Philip Lacey, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “The purchase of a new home is probably the biggest single investment a person will make in their lifetime, and showhomes are a crucial visual tool to illustrate how that blank-canvas can be shaped into a perfect home.
Kate Letteriello, Managing Director at interior designers, Artspace, one of the specialist firms appointed by David Wilson Homes to dress its showhomes, said: “If you're looking for the latest design trends you're sure to find them here. We have designed a number of David Wilson Homes' showhomes and aim to promote a luxurious and yet practical lifestyle which will appeal to a variety of homebuyers.
“For The Buckingham showhome at Britannia Park in Burbage, for example, we kept to a sophisticated colour palette of taupe, soft ivory and navy blue. The home was designed to the theme of 'Country Glam' and demonstrates how to successfully fuse classic colours, patterns and textures together to create a really elegant feel.
“The simplicity of bespoke furniture, textured fabrics and striking colours has resulted in a sleek and contemporary downstairs living space and we used a music-inspired design for the teenage boy's room and an equestrian-themed girl's bedroom, both of which are amiable and contemporary. The white horse head lamps, for example, give the girl's room a playful yet stylish feel, ideal for any teenage girl's haven.
“Similarly, for The Ashtree showhome at Paddock View in Stanton under Bardon we wanted to create a look of simple elegance so we used a muted colour palette with a hint of yellow to give the showhome a soft and delicate feel. Stylish and quirky one-off pieces make this plot memorable and interesting to all who visit, and we think it will appeal to younger families in particular.
“As a contrast, The Ashtree showhome at The Greens in Hinckley features a warm navy blue palette with hints of tan, to create a diverse and eclectic feel with a dramatic edge. For this showhome, we used a Quentin Blake-inspired theme for the young girl's bedroom and a vintage car-inspired design for the younger boy's bedroom.
Philip continued: “You're sure to come away with ideas, and anyone purchasing a home early in the build process will have the opportunity to personalise their new property with extras from our exclusive Expressions range, a bespoke service not usually associated with a volume developer.
